The First Starfall
After the Lady of Blossoms was slain by one of humanity’s own, the astromancers of the Winter Court revealed themselves. Their inquiries into the night sky led them to discover an asteroid that possessed a soul like the living creatures of Ruengoethe, and the astromancers married themselves to the stone and developed the mathematic calculations necessary to call it down from the sky on a single target. The three remaining fae courts ordered the star to fall on the center of mankind’s power in the east, the kingdom of Esgalgrath and home of The Philosopher-King. The catastrophic effects of the starfall were underestimated by the astromancers, as the dust stirred up by the immense impact lead to a decade of winter that nearly starved the eastern continents, as well as unleashed the Fellwright, having strange effects on creatures that lived within the glassed lands. The kingdoms of man were enraged by the genocide of Esgalgrath and the death of mankind’s greatest paragon. Ackenzal appointed a High King to lead the continent’s varied principalities and kingdoms in all-out war with the fae of Cairnaythiel, while the formerly neutral armies of Kerajaan Berseri began expelling fae from their lands and lead an attack on the Winter Court, which was nearly annihilated. After eighteen years of warfare that decimated the world population and set back progress centuries, the Starfall Truce was signed.
