Lord Inquisitor Drept
Lord Inquisitor Drept is the head of the Inquisition in Wyvar. He was known for his staunch opposition to the dissolution of Penitent Torture, his relentless pursuit of maleficarum, and hands-on approach for dealing with those who would practice Tekne and other forbidden magics. Early in his career Drept spanned the countryside searching for maleficarum, making a name for himself by putting whole villages to the salted blades of the Inquisition in order to find a single witch or warlock.
Now, the Lord Inquisitor sits uncomfortably in a bureaucrat’s chair, directing his now unliked, unfunded, and unmotivated inquisitors to seek out maleficarum in the piss-drenched streets of Wyvar. He often finds himself at odds with the private justicars and the Lord Marshall, and has his more zealous tendencies constantly thwarted by the Archduke and the local branch of the church, one that, notably, is under strong influence from The Spires. The Lord Inquisitor has a very vocal dislike for the scholars of those towers, calling their delvings into the unknown strands of The Loom and pursuit of the arcane anathem to the teachings of the church and dangerous to the city as a whole.
