Weft

Weft is the term used to describe magic in which the practitioner uses the Rite of Sennit to bind their soul “on high”, as it were. It is named for the transverse yarn in weaving that crosses the longitudinal thread, the warp, in an upwards spiral.

Weft exclusively describes Tuning that is performed by those bound an Ascendant, one of the Walking Gods, a Vestige, or an Anathem, and is juxtaposed to Warp, the magical arts that draw their power “sideways,” from sources such as Wisps or one’s own Knot.
