The Wispwood

“An immortal forest of bobbing lights and soft power, where the dead of the peace keepers lie and new ones are born.”
-from Travels of a Young Bard by Charmaine

The Wispwood is a forest located within the Sanktejo, and a holy site to the Conservators who call the island their home. The Wispwood is a forest of Amaranthine Deodar in which the Conservators are buried. It is also one of the places where wisps naturally coalesce, bobbing in the air as warm, multi-colored lights. The Wispwood is the location of the induction ritual for the conservators in which an initiate has their soul bound to all three of the Walking Gods. Gnostic magic performed in the Wispwood is enhanced by the availability of wisps to fuel the spells, but the balance is carefully maintained by the conservators who do not want to see their well of wisps dry up by the abuse of the resource.
