Tagu, sometimes called “boggarts”, are strange, ape-like creatures that haunt Nonman ruins. The reason for their creation is entirely unknown, and some believe that they may have been an experiment that simply got loose. However, this does not explain how the creatures not only live in the Delve, but also below the city of Wyvar and in other extensive Nonman ruins.
Tagu weigh about a hundred pounds and are four feet high when fully standing, which is rarely. The creatures have hairless, dry gray flesh, and notably, no bones excepting the spine and skull. The rest of their body is cartilaginous, with limbs more anatomically similar to tentacles than to that of land animals. Their arms and feet end in spiked, grasping hands that they use to climb onto sheer surfaces and to ensnare prey. The creatures feed on any meat they find available and are known to cleverly use chokepoints and pack hunting tactics in order to dispatch even adventuring parties that wander into Nonman ruins.
